After Hurricane Irene.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

So on my last post I posted that Hurricane Irene was coming our way and that we were going to be evacuating. Well @ the last minute my hubby decided that we should stay, so we did and it was a bit scary for me cause of the Tornado warning, the loud wind and it just wouldn't stop raining! We did lose power for a couple of days, from Friday night till Sunday night. I was excited ones we got power to later find out that we still didn't have cable or Internet.  We got our cable and Internet back Tuesday afternoon. Well I just wanted to share a couple of pics I took Sunday morning after the hurricane.

Since there was no power there were some car accidents.

This is why it took long to get power back.

It was crazy how some tress came down with roots and all!

This is the gas stations that was right across the street from where we got gas. The line to get gas @ Exxon was super long!

This is the back of our house. We added a screen room after we got our house from the Tornado damages. We were worried cause they guys had finished the screen room on Thursday and the Hurricane was coming on Saturday. Good thing nothing happen to our house, the only thing that sucks is that we did lose our fence again.

Hurricane Irene

So its official we are leaving our home once again to get out of "Irene's" way. It make me sad that we moved in to our home 32 days ago after all the damage from the April 16 Tornados, and now we have to leave. I know we are doing this for our safety but I can help but think that we might not like what we come home to on Sunday night or Monday morning. 

 

 

Well I just pray that nothing bad happens and that we are all safe here in North Carolina.

Update on our house.

Happy Monday Everyone!

 

So as some of you know our home got badly damaged from the April 16th Tornado that hit North Carolina, Well we finally got word from our contractor on Sunday the 17th that we can start moving back into our house! My husband and I were super excited to finally be back into our house. I just wanted to share pictures of my new scrapbooking room its a mess in here but its getting there.

These pictures are from my scrap room in our temporary home on base. These pics were taken while I was packing my room to move back into our house. 

Ok, Now onto my New Scrapbooking Room! I Love it! I got to pick out a new wall color so this was a tricky task since I've always had white walls or tan since that was the color of ALL the walls in our house when we bought it back in 2009. So we hit up Lowes to look for paint samples to give to our contractor, I knew I wanted a soft blue, well that's what I thought so I picked out the color I liked. A couple of weeks later we ended back @ lowes for something for the house and I ended up in the pain section again and for some reason I kept going back to the Pink section and I saw the "Prom Pink" and I wasn't to sure but I took the sample with me and showed it to my hubby and he was like "go for it" so I did it! LOL... At first I was not too happy with it cause I thought it was too Pink but now that my furniture is in here I love it! Its messy but I <3 my room! I hope to get it together quick so I can get busy and finish the projects I started before moving here.

I missed my huge closet!!!

Once I'm done organizing and putting things away I will try and make a video tour of my room.
